This edition of The Window has been curated by Pauline Mullen.
The arts have undeniably been integral to Mullen’s creative life. Growing up in New Zealand Mullen was surrounded by nature and beauty and as a young adult soon found herself participating in the rite of passage which saw her travel to far flung parts of the globe. Mullen worked in the United Kingdom, Papua New Guinea and Australia in advertising, photography, film and television, whilst pursuing her own passion of photography and performance art.
Mullen eventually settled in Goulburn where all her creative energy went into life: raising a family, running a farm and contributing to the performing arts with over 30 years of involvement at the Lieder Theatre. This included all aspects of live theatre production on and off stage, attending regional and international theatre festivals and collaborations with artists for community events.
Pauline Mullen believes that being an active member of one's creative community makes her an artist. Life is art, and this delicate balance Mullen maintains through yoga, Pilates and MELT, a self-care modality which she continues to train in and teach.
