Helen Stephens is a local artist and curator, and supporter of the arts in Goulburn.

Stephens began her career in journalism, but in 1985 decided on a career change and studied Fine Arts at The University of Sydney.

She developed her love for ceramics and commenced study at the East Sydney Technical College, now known as the National Art School.  She spent the next decade in the studio; exhibiting, curating, writing catalogue essays, and presenting papers at forums.

In 2002 Stephens opened All Hand Made Gallery in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and in 2007 opened Helen Stephens Gallery on Bronte Road, Waverly. In 2017 Helen Stephens Gallery opened in Collector, focusing on paintings, prints and ceramics, supporting local and regional artists through curated exhibitions.
