The Window

Curated by Stephen Hartup

5 feb. — 3 apr. 2021

This edition of The Window has been  curated by Stephen Hartup.

Stephen Hartup is a photographer based in Tarago, working across large format film and producing silver gelatin prints. Influenced by the likes of Jon Lewis, Ingeborg Tyssen and Stephen Dupont, Hartup states that photography is ‘at its best when it is an intense visual language which does not require a dense, complex shield of written language to explain or justify it.’ Hartup uses his camera to document and relish the details of the rural structures he has encountered in his life. With works in the Gallery’s permanent collection and exhibited in ‘Woolaway’ 2005 and ‘Goulburn Bustle’ 2019.
