Part of a 7 piece series of the seven deadly sins. Avarice is defined as extreme greed for wealth or material gain.

The painting shows the colours of Sydney Harbour, intruded upon by the eternal high rise property developer, souls caught in his net of greed. The painting colours are highlighted by the flat use of spray paint within the interior of the work, with high volume gloss acrylics used as a final layer to give depth throughout the work.

Themes contained within the painting include the confusion of gender roles, selfishness and sociopathic behaviours.
