Talking Painting with James Powditch and Oliver Watts

Talking Painting with James Powditch and Oliver Watts

Saturday 24 February 2024

12:00PM - 1:00PM

Join us in the Gallery for a Saturday in-convo with James Powditch and Oliver Watts.

With works currently on display as finalists in the Archibald Prize 2023, these painters have wide-ranging approaches to portraiture on a grand scale. Hear all about the subjects of their paintings, and their process of transforming the human face through contemporary practices.

James Powditch is an acclaimed mix media artist who adapts the associated memory or essence of his found objects and frankensteins them with his own to fabricate hybrid actively ‘functioning’ art forms, which in their essence objectify communication. Olivea Watts is an Australian artist, lecturer and theorist, working across a variety of media ranging from performance art to painting and collage. We can't wait for you to meet them both!

To attend, this program costs $20.00 + booking fee, which includes an unlimited ticket to the rest of the Archibald Prize 2023 in Goulburn. Book now to secure your place.
