Sculpture sesh with Lucinda McDonald
Workshops
Saturday 5 November 2022
1:00PM - 4:00PM
$20
For teens and adults
Get amongst it with Southern-Highlands based sculptor Lucinda McDonald to create unique pieces of art from wood, steel and a plethora of found objects.
In collaboration with the Goulburn Mulwaree Council's Waste Department, we have sourced a collection of found materials ready to inspire the budding artist. We will look at various ways of using these recycled materials, giving them a new lease of life in the form of your own unique sculpture. The options are limitless. Participants will design and create their own sculpture using various methods of assembling and adornment.
Be prepared to get messy making and, most importantly, spend a fun few hours experimenting with 3D forms.
About Lucinda McDonald
England-born artist Lucinda McDonald is known for her abstract sculptures which are simultaneously experimental, balances and playful. McDonald works principally with recycled steel with an acute appreciation of revitalising existing forms, pushing the medium, creating surfaces and compositions that belie the material. In each sculpture we see careful consideration in how the individual sections of steel work together constructing lyrical abstracted assemblages sensitive to colour, texture, space & repetition of shapes. Organic in her process, McDonald subconsciously draws on her past with a childhood spent in South Africa and then returning to the UK. McDonald currently lives and works in the Southern Highlands.
Booking can be made via Eventbrite or direct with the Gallery.
