Come one and all for first glimpses of our brand new exhibitions.

On display across Gallery 1 and Gallery 3 is Collection in focus, an extensive hang of the Goulburn Regional Art Gallery's acquisitions over more than forty years. Including works by artists near and far, and offering sculptures, paintings, works on paper and video, the exhibition draws attention to relationships, histories and journeys built over time by the Gallery through dedication to artistic practices and the voices of our locale.

In Gallery 2, Southern Highlands based artist Hannah Cooper presents Warping the weft - an exhibition devoted to textiles. Production of ubiquitous domestic textiles has heavily influenced Hannah’s artistic work, which plays with (and pushes against) the formal language of geometric abstraction and the structural and creative constraints of weaving.

Taking over the Gallery’s Window space, Act Up presents perspectives on the queer experience that are poetic, provocative, and sparkled with hope. Working in collaboration with Bladwell Productions, local LGBTQAI+ community members and allies examine the role of artmaking as a form of social cohesion and loving protest. This interdisciplinary installation forms a celebration of dynamic identities, sock puppets and self-discovery through play.

Opened by the one and only Jennifer Lamb OAM, you won't want to miss this event celebrating our past, present and future.

This event is free of charge and open to all, so book in and enjoy art with us.
