Join us in The Gallery at 12pm, Wednesday 18 January with Jennifer Lamb and her curated exhibition in The Window.
Jennifer Lamb is the curator of our current display in The Window - a space dedicated entirely to works within the Gallery's permanent collection. As the Gallery's inaugural director and a true powerhouse behind some of our most ambitious early exhibitions, it is a privilege to have her curatorial expertise featured in our program once again.
Selecting works by artists who were commissioned as part of the Gallery's group exhibition Icarus, which toured to nine venues across Australia from 1999 to 2001, Lamb's exhibition revisits the ancient Greek myth as interpreted by leading contemporary artists. Including works by Guy Warren AM and Treahna Hamm in The Window, and an additional work by Tom Arthur installed just beyond, Lamb pushes the boundaries of our space, and reawakens our thoughts of aspiration, desire, risk-taking, and nerves of steel.
Join us in discussion with Jennifer Lamb to learn more behind these formidable creative practices, and the curator's own journey in bringing contemporary art to Goulburn in some of its most exciting moments.
This program is free of charge and open to all with a fondness for history, culture and local legends. Bookings can be made via the link below.
