Closer Looks: Natasha Walsh
Talk
Friday 20 July 2018
1:00PM - 2:00PM
This is Walsh's second time as a finalist in the Archibald Prize. Her self portrait is exquisitely rendered on copper and offered the artist 'a means of exploring my own mortality through the immediacy of working from life on the equally ephemeral support of copper'.
This work holds a great presence in the exhibition and this final talk in the 'Closer Look' series is bound to open up new ideas around paining and portraiture. Walsh is an emerging artist and her work was selected as a finalist in the Scottish Royal Academy Summer exhibition in 2017. In 2016 Walsh was highly commended in the Portia Geach Memorial Award.
