Goulburn Regional Art Gallery

PERC CARTER
a personal perspective

This body of work by Perc Carter has created a lasting photographic record of Goulburn’s public art works and recognises the talents of their creators.

These images remind us of how our public art appears today. Reliance on memory alone would eventually preclude accurate descriptions of the works and their locations should they ever be relocated, damaged or lost in the mists of time.

The prints are large to more adequately represent the scale and grandeur of the art works that are, in the main, larger than life.

The photographer used both film and digital technology to make the images that have been digitally printed on photographic art paper.

Monochrome was chosen as the medium because of the honesty, subtlety and elegance it brings to the final print.
