Goulburn Regional Art Gallery

An Australian Centre for Photography touring exhibition

After 100 years of discussion, the race was on to build the longest single arch span bridge in the world. The Sydney Harbour Bridge was as innovative in its construction methods as it was modern in its design. From the use of railway sleepers to position vertical hangers to manually rolling asphalt to avoid cracking under the Australian sun.
Building the Sydney Harbour Bridge is a specially selected exhibition of work that illustrates Mallard's affinity for his times and connects us to the birth of this world famous icon and the people that built it.
